Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Eugene for Lloyd Leston Phillips, chief of the Marcola Volunteer Fire Department, who died Monday at the age of 53 after a long illness. Burial at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Phillips was born April 23, 1916, at Heppner, Oregon. He married Alice Cox June 24, 1939, in Eugene. He was a member of the Marcola Fire Department for more than 14 years and served as its chief. Phillips is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Darrell Lane; four grandchildren, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reedy Phillips, all of Springfield, and by two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Nielsen of Depoe Bay and Mrs. D.E. Hunter of Parkdale, Oregon.
