Date of death, according to Civil War records, was 1918, Grave Number not stated, Lot Number 523. Enrolled 24 December 1863 at Vicksburg, Mississippi. Transferred in July 1865 to Company A, 58th Illinois Volunteers. Civil war records said he was 5'3", light complexion, light hair and blue eyes. Was city marshall of Carbondale, Illinois in 1891. Was a minister. His first wife died and came back from the dead. (Family folklore).
