Notes
a. Note:   Never married. No Children. Died of pneumonia at the Waterbury Vermont State Hospital.
Merton had been under hospitalization for many years.
I was told that as a young person he was injured in the head by a
blasting cap injury (he had picked it up off from the railroad tracks).
In his early adult years he was in a bad car accident which further aggravated his
head injury - thus brain damage.
Not sure if he had other further mental illness on top of those head injuries - or if the mental disabilities were entirely due to the head injuries.
At the time of his Mother Matilda's death (1956) he was living in Boston, MA.
Shortly after his Mother's death he returned to Vermont. Buried at St Sylvester's Cemetery, Websterville, VT.
