Niemistö farm in Jurva, the place where your ancestor Matti Juhonpoika moved from Ilmajoki in 1862. His brother Hermanni Juhonpoika, my ancestor, moved to the same farm from Isokyrö in 1873 with his family. His son, Matti Hermanninpoika Niemistö rebuilt the farm in the beginning of 20th century. The farm-house built in 1911 (was also my parents’ -home) and a little storehouse (granary) are still standing here from that time.

there was an awful tragedy in your ancestor’s (Matti Juhonpoika) family in 1868, six years after they had moved to Jurva. Both parents, Matti and Hedvig, they were died in epidemic after two hard years of famine. I guess that your grandfather’s father, Jaakko Matinpoika (at age of 14) and his brother Matti Matinpoika (at age of 20) were too young to take care of farm, and that’s why their paternal uncle, my ancestor, moved to the farm with his family. Still I guess, that your grandfather’s father Jaakko Matinpoika, he perhaps worked as a farmhand near Jurva village center and there he found his wife from Ojanperä farm.
the mother of your grandmother, Sanna Tuomaantytär Korpi, she was born in Korpela farm, the nearest neighbor of us. Or anyhow, her father Tuomas Antinpoika was born there
