John spent most of his married life working as a Rigger (eventually becoming the Foreman) at the Rock of Ages Granite Quarries in Graniteville, Vermont.
John was a very hard worker, and in his free time enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. He also was very fond of reading Western novels, always dreamed of going to Aaska, but never made it there.
