Notes
a. Note:   After death or divorce of his cousin, Charles, from Margaret Ann Magill, George Macready married her and raised five children. They were: Samuel, Margaret Ella, Willie, Emma and Maggie. The 1870 Census described George as a Mariner. It is possible that Charles was also a Mariner. Also living in the George Macready house, were two boarders, John Cammel, a White retired baker, and Matilda Martin, a Black domestic servant. Their son, Adam Cammel, lived down the street, in the William Herring household. He was 14, in 1870, and could have been their servant. In Retzer's "German Regiment", appears Thomas Cammel, served three years (per Md. Archives) and was discharged from Revolutionary War duties, at Fort Wyoming, Pa. (Wilkes-Barre).
