Note: In the 1860 census of Boone Co., Missouri William Vanlandingham, age 23, is listed on page 879, line 32, HH 257/283. His wife, Mary E., is age 22, and two sons are Marion F., age 3 and Francis W., age 1. Since Elizabeth Vanlandingham, widow of Merritt, is listed only two lines above the listing for William and Elizabeth and Merritt are known to have had a son named William it would appear that this William is Elizabeth's son.
Probate Packet #2051, Boone Co., Missouri, January20, 1865 John H. Vanlandingham made a sworn statement that William Vanlandingham died without leaving a will and that to the best of his knowledge William's heirs are Marian P. Vanlandingham, Francis Vanlandingham, Ida Vanlandingham, and two small children names not known.
January 20, 1865 John H. Vanlandingham administrator of estate of William Vanlandingham and Willis H. Jacobs and Merrit A. Vanlandingham are securities.
