Note: Joan, like her other five sisters, attended grade and high school at the Convent of the Sacred Heart on Lawrence Avenue in Detroit, MI. She only had the chance to attend one year of college at Barat in Chicago, IL. During WWII, she was an military-uniformed driver for the military officers in Detroit, MI. She had two husbands die. Jack was the Father of her 12 children. He was a Lt. in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Afterwards, he took over his father's insurance business in Troy, NY. He died of a heart condition at a young age. Later, Joan married Jack De Lee & moved to Louisiana where he had moved from Troy, NY. Jack was a retired government civil engineer. Their marriage only lasted a few years before he died. Then, Joan married Phil Jacobs, a staunch Catholic from Alexandria, LA. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
