a. Note:   John James Harris, known as "Captain Jack", was one of Boulder's best known mining men. He was born in Devonshire, England and emigrated to
 Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1867, where he and Martha were married and
 three of their children were born. In June 1877, they moved to
 Colorado where he pursued mining interests in Salina, Camp Albion and
 Summerville, all in Boulder County.They later moved to a home they
 built at 504 Marine St., in Boulder.
  He was an enthusiastic lodge man - a member of the Masons, Shriners,
 the Elks, The Ancient Order of the United Workman, The Forresters, and
 the Degree of Honor.
