Continued: John moved to Colorado in his early twenties, to stay with his aunt and uncle in Denver,and later worked in his uncle's business in Boulder where he met Genevieve. In July 1942, John, Genevieve and sons, Fredrick, Roger, and William moved to Alhambra, California, where daughter, April, was born in December of that year. In the late 1950's, John transferred to McLellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California, and Genevieve and April followed in 1959. In a federal career spanning more than 35 years, John served as Quality Control Officer and Materiel Officer for the 822nd Materiel Command. Prior to his retirement, John was the Logistics Officer (Civilian), Pacific Command, at McLellan Air Force Base. Upon retirement, John and Genevieve moved to Citrus Heights, a suburb of Sacramento, their home at the time of his death on February 7, 1989. John is buried in the Citrus Heights cemetery,
