a. Note:   An old resident dead-Mrs. Sarah Vanderhoof passed away at her home this w morning-Aged 81 years-Death due to infirmities of old age-Prominent chu rch worker. Mrs. SArah VAnderhoof, aged 81 years and five months, died at her home a t 623 Pine street at 11:30 o'clock this morning of the infirmities of ol d age. The deceased had been confined to her bed from Saturday last, laps ing into a comatose condition that same evening, from which she did not r ecover sufficiently to recognize anyone. The funeral will be held at th e home Friday morning at 10 O'clock, Rev. G.W. Jennings officiating. Buri al will take place in Oak Hill cemetery.
 Surving the decesed are her husband, C.A. Vanderhoof and six children, M rs. Mary Weeks, of Beckley, Wash.; Ida Greenawalt [sic] of Janette, Penn, ;Mrsw. Helen Brown of Brant; Mrs. Sarah Rathburn [sic] of Owosso, Mrs. Al meda Cook of Chesaning and Seward Vanderhoof of Berrien Springs. Three si sters, Mr. Patti Williams of Albany, N.Y.; Mrs. Helen Piper and Mrs. Jan e Degolier of Amsterdam, N.Y., also survive her.
 It is thought that all the relatives with exception of Mrs. Weeks of Was hington will attend the funeral.
 Mrs. Vanderhoof was a prominent church worker, being connected with th e First M.E. church for a great umber of years past. She was also a membe r of the Christian Temperance Union of that church and a member of the Mi ssionary society. Her sudden demise is mourned most deeply by one of th e largest circles of friends and acquaintances that such a kind hearted a nd lovely old lady has ever enjoyed. A woman with a sweeter disposition c ould not be found and the most sincere sypathy is extended the bereaved h usband and children in their darkest hour of sorrow.
 Mr. Vanderhoof had been a resident of Owosso for the last 27 years, th e family moving here from Chesaning at that time. Until her death, the de ceased resided at the present home for nearly 20 years.

b. Note:   Their 50th wedding anniversary Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Vanderhoff, who have resided in Owosso since 1869, ar e celebrating their wedding anniversary today at their home on Pine stree t, by having a family reunion.
 There are present all the children: Seward Vanderhoff, of Berrian Spring s, Mrs. J.E. Weeks, of Owosso, Mrs. Ida Greenwall, of Jeanette, Pa., Mrs . Carl Brown and Mrs. Lovell Cook, of Chesaning, with their wives and hus bands and children.
 Mr. and Mrs. Vanderhoof came here from Montgomery county, N.Y., and ar e estimable old people.
