Note: Seward Vanderhoof dies at home here-Injured Monday by fall from wagon an d never fully regained consciousness. Death came at 1:30 this morning to Seward W. VAnderhoof at his home at 6 23 Pine St., following an injury received Monday when he fell from a wago n which he was driving for the Woodard Manufacturing company and struck h is head on the tire of another wagon. Bright's disease was a contributin g cause of death, however. He never fully regined consciousness althoug h at times he recognized members of his family. He had been acting as dri ver for the Woodard company for some time. The deceased was born in Montgomery county, New York state, and at the a ge of 13 years came to this city. He was married in 1860 [sic] to Miss Sa rah Davison in Bennington township. For 17 years they resided in Berrie n county, where Mr. Vanderhoof became affiliated with the Odd Felows [sic ] lodge. While there he held several offices in that organization. They have reside in this city for many years. The deceased was a membe r of the First M.E. church and was well known and highly respected. His f ather, Cornelius Vanderhoof, died less than a year ago. He leaves beside s his widow, one son, C.E. Vanderhoof, of Watervliet. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home o n Pine street. Rev. E.J. WArren will officiate and interment will be mad e in Oak Hill cemetery. The Odd Fellows will attend in a body and will ha ve charge of the funeral service. Owosso Weekly Press, Mar 1917.
