Bud VanDemark of Pine Bush, NY, a retired Foreman for Town of Shawangunk and a lifelong resident of the area, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 4, 2009 in Pine Bush. He was 86.
The son of the late Richard and Mary Scott VanDemark, he was born September 22, 1923 in Walker Valley.
He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the VFW. Bud was also an avid outdoorsman.
He was the widower of Gwendolyn Kay VanDemark.
Survivors include his son, Richard VanDemark, Jr. and his wife, Ellen of Pine Bush; daughter, Mary Montanya of Burlingham, NY; son, Randy VanDemark and his wife, Ann of Pine Bush; son, Brian VanDemark of Burlingham, NY; son, Jeffrey VanDemark, Sr. and his wife, Cheryl of Pine Bush; seven VanDemark grandchildren: Amy, Stacy, Kelly, Eva, Erin, Jeffrey, Jr., and Tyler; and two Montanya grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle; brother, Albert VanDemark; and sister, Marjorie Berti. He was predeceased by his brothers, Chester VanDemark and Chris Witte; sister, Martha Cappadora; and grandson, Richard VanDemark III.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 8, from 6-9 p.m. at the Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden.
Funeral services will be on Friday, October 9, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Reverend James Van Houten will officiate. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush.
