Obituary and Biographical SIMS VANDERMARK was born in Lucerne county, Pa., September 5, 1816. Died April 6, 1898, aged 81 years, 7 months and 1 day. The deceased was married to Mary A. Driesbach October 18, 1840. She departed this life March 20, 1896. In September, 1864, they left their native state and moved to Kosciusko county, Indiana, locating in Seward township, near the village of Palestine, where they lived until the messenger of death called them home. To their union were born seven sons and six daughters, of whom three daughters and one son have preceded them to the spirit world. He was of a cheerful disposition and always ready to help in time of need. The community has lost a kind, obliging and respected neighbor, and the home is now vacant. He united with the M.E. church in Lucerne county, Pa., in 1858. In former years, while health permitted, he took an active part in the Christian work. He leaves 9 children, 29 grandchildren and 9 great-grand children and a host of friends to mourn their loss. Realizing that our los is his gain, let us bow submissively to the will of Him that "doeth all things well." The funeral took place at Palestine and was largely attended. Discourse by Rev. M. R. Pierce, from Songs of Solomon, 2:11-12. H.L. and N.C.
