a. Note:   Was in the 1940 census - was 11 at the time. In 1946 when he tries to enlist he would have 16 1/2 years of age. He tried to up his age by 3 years to 19. At this point he is recorded as being married but I cannot find anything in WV archives so can only assume that it might have been in NY that he got 'attached' to someone. I have nothing from 1946 to 1961 when he marries mom. Also I'd like to find out what his years in prision were as well because I remember mom saying he went to prison trying to claim us on his taxes which of course meant that mom had to prove she paid for us children during that year in question - do nto know when this was but suspect late 1960s. BEcause in very early 1970 he's living in WI and had a traffic violation.

  Year of birth is really 1929 despite the original Social Security certificate stating 1926. Apparently lied on it to get into the Army. This is per Barb and she stated that on some paper it stated he was married. This would mean that when he married Mom it was his second marriage. Need to see if we can obtain a certificate of the marriage - perhaps write away to obtain one.
  Look at Access to Archival Database - it says he's married in 1946!
