a. Note:   e retained ownership of property in Hill City (north Chattanooga) that was paid for. Pauline retained the property on central ave. that had a morgage on it. Martin closaed his taylor shop down (to not make support payments?) and started to raise garden vegetables that he sold to the hotels in Chattanooga. He later raised pigs and chickens by feeding them the garbage form the wealthy homes in Hill City area. Story goes that he thought the pigs were eating too good and so ate their food too. This resulted in his demise from food poisoning during WWII. Supposed to be several toe sacks of silver buried on the place that was recovered from the garbage he fed the animals.
