a. Note:   Adra Hutchison was born near LaPlata, Missouri. She came from Presbyteri an families but joined the Methodist church shortly after her marriag e. In the 1880's she and here husband, Ben, transferred their membersh ip to the Bear Creek Presbyterian Church. She and her daughters kept Lar ge gardens, processed the fruits and vegetable, sewed their clothing, ma de quilts, and wove rag rugs on a very large loom. She was a 'jewel' to h er children and their families. Everyone of them marvelled at her streng th of character, her kindness, patience, and her influence on her family a nd her grandchildren.
