Note: In 1797 as a resident of his native Co, he acted as attorney for his broth ers and sisters of Nelson Co, Kentucky. In the early 1800's he was a memb er of that Catholic group which migrated from Maryland to Marion Co, Kentu cky. Among the families which joined in this movement were Alvey, Spaldin g, Mudd, Beaven, Mattingly, 13 Unp. Md. Records, D. A. R. Library, vo l. 5, p. 81. Abel, Edelen, Carrico, and Semmes - all old and staunch Rom an Catholic families of Southern Maryland. One of their towns was named S t. Mary's after the first settlement in their native State. In 1815 Hezeki ah Luckett was granted 55 acres of land on Pottenger's Creek, which was fo llowed by 196 acres in 1816, and 300 acres in 1831, extending beyond the Washington County line into Nelson Cou nty. At the census of 1850 Hezekiah Luckett was living on his farm in Ma rion County with his wife Elizabeth, aged 75 and born in Maryland, and Jos ephine Lennarts, aged 19 but born in Kentucky.
