(47) Mr Smallwood, fr om the Committee appointed to enquire into the Truth of the ffacts alledg ed in the Petition of Thomas Hussey Luckett, Jeremiah Aderton, and Anne h is wife, delivers to Mr Speaker the following Report viz: By the Committ ee appointed by the Honourable the Lower House of Assembly, to equire in to the Truth of the ffacts alledged in the petition of Thomas Hussey Lucke tt; and Jeremiah Adderton, Anne his wife; June 18, 1747. Your Committ ee do find his Lordship's Grant to Zachariah Wade, of a Tract of land; cal led Waidstone containing 300 acres bearing Date the 7th Day of October 166 1, lying in Charles county. We also find another Grant from his said Lords hip to the said Zachary Wade bearing Date the 20th of June 1669, for a tra ct of land called Waidstones Enlargment, containing 100 acres, lying al so in Charles county. We also find that the said Zachary Wade, did by h is last Will and Testament, bearing Date the 20th of May 1678, duly prov ed and Recorded, give unto his Eldest Son Richard Wade, the aforesaid T wo Tracts of Land. We also find a Deed of Bargin and Sale, duly acknowledg ed and Recorded , as appears by a Copy of the Record and Certificate there of, under the seal of the office for the aforesaid Two Tracts of Land, bea ring Date and 14th of September 1686, from the said Richard Wade, to a cer tain Thomas Hussey, his heirs and assigns for ever. We likewise find th at the said Thomas Hussey, by his last Will and Testament, duy proved bear ing Date the 6th Day of Ffebruary 1609 and 1700, did give and bequeath un to his Grandson Thomas Hussey Luckett, 1,310 acres of Land, lying in Ching omuxon; of which we apprehend the Two above mentioned Tracts of Land, call ed Waidstone's Englargement to be part. We further find the last will a nd testament of Robert Price, of charles Co, duly proved on the 22d of Ju ne 1715; In a Clause of which are the following words, viz. 'That is to s ay 200 acres thereof I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth, and to the hei rs of her body for ever and for and on Default of such issue then to my Da ughter Mary, which God was pleased to bless me with by my second and prese nt Marriage, to her and her Heirs forever'. Which 200 acres your Committ ee presume to be part of a Tract of Land, Called St. Patrick's Hill, menti oned in the said Petition. And we likewise believe, that Anne the wi fe of Jeremiah Adderton, is Daughter and Heiress of the aforesaid Elizabet h, Daughter of the aforementioned Robert Price the Deviser, and lastl y, we find that the Tract of Land Called Waidstones Enlargment, patented f or 100 acres and the part of the Tract of land, called Waidstone measuri ng 112 acres, according to the courses, mentioned in the aforesaid pate nt (leaving out the words, Two Degrees South, in the fifth Course whi ch we apprehend to be a Mistake) by the information of Mr Bayne Smallwoo d, is better in Quality, and of greater value, than the afo0resaid 200 acr es, art of St. Patrick's Hill; all which is humbly submitted to the Consid eration of your Honourable House. (93) ============================= General Notes for Thomas Hussey LUCKETT Gent. ============================= Thomas Hussey Luckett, son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Hussey) Luckett, was b orn in Charles Co, Maryland, at a date later than 1693. By 1717 he had mar ried Elizabeth, the daughter of Robert and Juliana (Goodrick) Price. Robe rt Price dated his will December 6, 1714, and devised his daughters Elizabeth and M ary by his second and last marriage his entire landed estate. Some two yea rs later, June 19, 1716, William Cantwell, one of the witnesses to the wi ll of Robert Price, died without issue, and among his devisees were Elizabeth Price, Hu ssey Luckett, and Juliana Price, widow. Thus, at this date it is known th at Elizabeth was still a maiden. But on December 23, 1717, Juliana Pric e, widow, conveyed to Thomas H. Luckett, Gent., for natural love and mothe rly affections which she bore to Elizabeth Luckett, wife of Thomas H. Luck ett, and daughter of the said Juliana Price, 200 acres of 'St. Patrick's H ill', lying on the west side of the main branch of the Creek of Port Tobac co, which had been devised to Elizabeth by the will of Robert Price, of Ch arles Co, deceased, father to Elizabeth Luckett.  3. Anne Luckett married Jeremiah, son of Jeremiah and Mary Ad derton, and secondly George Jenkins. About 1738 Thomas Hussey Luckett conveyed to his daughter Anne and her hus band Jeremiah Aderton for love and natural affections land at Chinquamuxo n. On December 12, 1716, Thomas Hussey Luckett, Gent., conveyed to Robe rt Hanson, Gent., for the consideration of 8,000 pounds of tobacco 'Montag ue's Mountains' lying on the south side of St. Michael's Creek, formerly c alled Chingamuxon Creek. The deed was witnessed by William Mills and Willi am Theobald, but no wife waived dower. Some years later he sold to Thom as Hussey Luckett, of Ignatius, another portion of this tract and also 'Mo ntague's Addition'. On November 17, 1724, Robert Hanson resold 'Montague 's Mountains' of 200 acres to Thomas Hussey Luckett, and at the same ti me conveyed 'Montague's Addition' of 100 acres, and 'Aspinal Chance' of 1 19 acres, all lying on Chingamuxon Creek. The conveyance was witness ed by Gustavus Brown and George Dent. On August 4, 1725, Thomas Hussey Luc kett conveyed to Thomas Skinner 'Milerre' originally granted to George God frey on July 2, 1669, lying on Chingamuxon Creek. Elizabeth Luckett, his w ife, relinquished her third. The witnesses were Thomas Stone, Joseph Harri son, and Step Evans. He negotiated three land patents__'Luckett's Additio n' in 1730, 'Wadestone's Addition' in 1747, and 'Luckett's Benefit' in 176 1. In 1751 Thomas Hussey Luckett and Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer were bon dsmen for Thomas Simpson, the administrator of Anne Clarke. On November 3 1, 1765, he and George Jenkins witnessed the will of Thomas Simpson, and l ikewise on May 14, 1766, they gave bond for Elizabeth Simpson, the daught er and administratrix of the said Thomas Simpson. On July 15, 1766, Thom as Hussey Luckett and William Rhody Luckett conveyed to Daniel of St. Thom as Jenifer for s195 'Wade Stone', lying near Goose Bay in the Potomac Riv er of 200 acres, and also 'Wade Stone Addition', containing 22 1/2 acre s, improved property. At this time no wife joined in the deed. Thomas Huss ey Luckett died intestate in Charles County about 1767, when letters of ad ministration were issued to his son William Rhody Luckett. On July 11, sa me year, an inventory of his personal effects was filed and appraised at s 216/5/6. George Jenkins and John Jenkins signed as the next of kin and Rho da Luckett appeared as the administrator. On December 1, 1769, the procee ds were distributed to the three heirs__William R. Luckett, Elizabeth Jenk ins. and Anne Jenkins. Henry Hagan and Thomas Semmes were the bondsmen. (9 4)
