Note: Martha Charlotte "Lottie" Cox was born March 3, 1895. She was the youngest of the eleven children of Mary Margaret Ohler and Salathiel Cox. As a young woman, Lottie Cox went to work at the Belmont Stamping and Enameling Co., in New Philadelphia, Ohio where she worked in the packing and shipping department for Ellsworth "Worth" Walters. On September 20, 1915, Lottie married James Arthur Rollins (a widower with a young son named Arthur.) She stopped working when she became pregnant and a daughter, Evelyn Mae Rollins, was born August 3, 1916 . On January 6, 1919, Lottie was widowed when Jim Rollins succombed to heart problems which had troubled him since an episode of childhood rhuematic fever. Lottie returned to work at Belmont Stamping, and she and Worth Walters became good friends. Worth's first wife, Della May Grimm had died August 19, 1918. After a brief courtship, Lottie and Worth were married on August 20, 1919. Two children born to Della and Worth Walters: Audrey Helen Walters (born October 29, 1909) and Howard Ellsworth Walters (born May 21, 1911). Lottie and Worth Walters also had two children: Robert Dewitt (born May 26, 1921) and Martha Marie (born June 12, 1925). There were three sets of children in their home, but all were considered brothers and sisters. We had two wonderful parents and never were the words step or half brother or sister ever used. As all childhoods we had our bad and good days, but looking back, I can see there were more good than bad. (from the papers of Evelyn Mae "Sally" Rollins Mathias)
