  9(6). Francis C. "Frank" Denney was born on December 13, 1836. He married his first cousin Sarah (daughter of Charles Denney born in 1843) on December 24, 1860. Frank and Sarah operated a tobacco farm on Dry Branch and began a large family. He was murdered by Dutch Oldham on the first day of September 1881 and was buried at the Denney Cemetery on Denney Branch. After his death, Sarah and the children faced hard times for a number of years. She survived until March 14, 1928.
  Tradition says that the murder took place at a county fair. The motive is unknown. Need the court records.

  When I was a freshman in college we burried Uncle Wiley, I think he was a Denny, bur am not sure. There was no preacher and no mourners nor any spectators. Since I was so highly educated I was nominated to preach the funeral. Since I was a gutless wonder I declined the nomination . We burried Uncle Wiley without benefit of clergy. The undertaker said the Lord's Prayer while we filled the grave. That was in 1949. Seems to be a different Wiley than yours.
  I realy believe I saw Uncle Cloud more than once. He was tall, ugly with a long grey beard. I would have been about 4 or 5 at the time. So far as I can remember, I never heard of Elizabeth or John Enoch.
  Uncle Sam Enoch and Aund Babe have got to be Martha and Sam. They also lived with Mary Winfree after G.P. died. So far as we knew Uncle Sam had no one who admitted to being his father. He was sometimes reffered to as a 'bastard'. He was, however a very nice and kind man. Amanda Naricissia Denny----J.C. Baker-----Dave Flippen are all total strangers to me using any of those names.
