Note: > Followed abstraction from William H. Johnson and Silas Ragsdale and James Rice relative to the cast will of John Rice dec'd., 22 June 1853 (I think this is the recorded date). > It goes on to say will is void and of none affect on of account of the incompetence of the testator at the time the will was made. > > Another record: March 1841 pg 382 > Andrew Gwynn is appointed Guardian of Fredonia, Esther Elizabeth, Polly and James Thomas Rice, minor heirs of James Rice, deceased. This family maybe related to the John Rice in Caswell Co. NC. I found on the IGI a submission by Rose Adele Gwynn (1971) I sent for the source film and she has a lot of info on two group sheets with verifications listed--one being she thinks one of the children was the John Rice found in Civil Dist. 25 Wilson Co TN. Batch #501688 sht 2 Film #1396477 > > The last record: > James Rice appointed Guardian of his children Sally Ann, John Wesley, James Harvey, and William P--- Rice heir of Patience Rice dec'd their mother no date on my copy but I believe it might be on the same film as the John Rice will. Also you have Patricia as the wife. I have the copy from the film and it looks like Patience to me but that could have been an error. > > I hope this helps. Norma Matthew: I have an old map of Wilson County TN which shows the names and locations of families living in the various districts of the county. It was published in 1909 but accurately reflects the location of my Baird's that settled there ca 1800. B. J. VanHook is shown in the 22nd District near Hebron Church, south of present day Hwy 70 and a W. A. Baird is shown living nearby, about 3-4 miles. William [A or R] Rice lived in the 22nd and a Dr R. C. VanHook lived nearby. W. A. Partlow lived between them. [2-3 miles] and T. W. Baird lived not too distant from William Rice. T. N. Rice and H. O. Baird lived in the 24th near earch other on Central Pike and a J. H. Rice lived in the 24th just north of Gladeville, TN. None of these live more than 8 miles from the crossroads at Baird's Mill. The Baird's mentioned could be one of a number. John Baird, Jr lived in Rutherford County. I notice that one of Patricia's children was born there. My best estimate for the birth of Patricia is between 1813/1821. There is a gap between 1814 and 1820 where no children are shown born to John Baird and wife Margaret. Wilson Baird was born 29 Jun 1813 and could be a brother. Lots more work to do so kep me in mind if more data turns up. I will do the same. John
