Page:   William's death record is in Book H-14, Pg 130, Death Records of Allen Co., IN in the Allen County Administration Building, Ft. Wayne, IN.
  He died of Tuberculas Peritonitis after being ill four years. A contributing cause was "Accidental falling and injuring right hip."
  The attending physician was S.E. Mentzer, MD, Monroeville, Ind. He was buried at Stephenson Cemetery. Painter Bros. were the undertakers.

Page:   Bill was initially buried in the Stephenson [Sugar Ridge] cemetery, Monroe Twp., Allen Co., IN.
  The Stephenson cemetery list shows the tombstone was inscribed:

 1843-1912
  He was later moved to Section B in the IOOF cemetery near Monroeville with his wife, Sarah.

Page:   "Uncle Billy" - William was born and raised in Marion Township, Allen County on a farm near Middletown (Middleton?). He moved at age 8 and lived near the town of Poe, southeast of Monroeville about 10 miles.
  So, the Hess and Van Horn families were neighbors, not too many miles apart. -Rusty
  He was a Mason and a member of the Walnut Grove Methodist Episcopal Church.
