Note: Delores Martin-Ellis wrote to Bill Martin 26 July 1999: I remember also going to Janie's house when we gathered up clothing and food for her and the family. She was pretty destitute. The main picture I have was being in the kitchen of that little house Kara Leigh may have mentioned, where we stacked the sacks on her white, I think it was a metal table, and over the center of the table hung a long sticky paper to catch flies. Recalling that she was a very large woman, I have no idea where we got the bras we collected and carried to her, but I recall her being very pleased with what she called "binders".
