LaWana had a great love for writing poetry, and was a very creative woman.
She was involved with the cub scout program for many years, and received the Silver Fawn Award for service. She also was given the Award of Merit,
Scouters Key and was on the staff as a trainer for the National Council.
Lawana was involved in music and led the singing in church. She had an
uncle who was deaf, and LaWana learned to communicate by sign language.
She was always active in the church, and served three missions with her
husband. They were called to Chicago and Nauvoo Illinois and Washington,
DC She was a Golden Gleaner, a Cub Master, and taught in most of the
organizations of the church.
