Note: John apparently married but had no kids. He was an army surgeon or medical aide in the Boer war and was injured. He volunteered to serve ambulance duty during WWI. He wrote his sister of 22 medals and 51 bars among the four of us, family members presumably. A small picture says of him says: 1st lieutenant John R. Williamson East London West South Africa Royal Army Medical Corps 29th British Ambulance train in World War His army number 34296 home near Glasgow May 1929
