Note: Ella spent three months in the Adair County Nursing Home, due to congestive heart failure, edema and a fractured arm, and this is where she died at the age of 86. Her last residence was at 1004 East Randolph in Kirksville, Missouri. This house had belonged to her brother, John Cornell. After her death, this real estate was transferred to Clarence Ferguson, Wayne Ferguson and Opal Ammerman. It was located in Lot 6, Block 2, Owen's addition. Obituary in the "Kirksville Daily Express," Friday, July 3, 1970 ELLA FERGUSON, 86, DIES THIS MORNING "Ella May Ferguson, 86, of 1004 E. Randolph, formerly of Route 1, Brashear, died at seven o'clock this morning in the Adair County Nursing Home where she had been a patient since April 14. "Born on a farm in the Hazel Green community on December 11, 1883 she was the daughter of Sebastian and Margaret E. (Pring) Cornell. On November 16, 1904 she was married to Delmar Ferguson and to this marriage three children were born. "Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Myrl (Opal) Ammerman of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, Wayne Ferguson of Route 1, Brashear and Clarence Ferguson of Shelbyville (Missouri); seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. "She was preceded in death by her husband in 1950, one brother and three sisters. "Mrs. Ferguson resided on a farm in the Hazel Green community until the death of her husband when she moved into Kirksville. "She was a member of the Hazel Green Holiness Church. After moving to Kirksville she attended the Church of God (Holiness) until her health failed. "Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in the Sabbath Home Church with the Rev. J. T. McClanahan of Brashear officiating. Burial will be in the churchyard cemetery. "The body is at the Foster Memorial Home where it will remain until the funeral hour."
