 1741, Nov. 23. Stryker, Jan (John), of Six-Mile Run, Somerset Co.,
 yeoman, will of. Wife -- Grietje, executrix; to have all estate during
 widowhood. Thereafter sons John, Frederick and Gerrit to have the
 estate, paying daughters Dina, wife of Johannes Vanderveer �100 and
 Styntje Strycker �200. If death or marriage of wife, son John, and
 son-in-law Johannes Vanderveer, to be executors. Witnesses -- Walter
 Burnet, Pitue Poumil, John Michael Sperling. Proved 6 Aug 1747.

 Married - Margaret Van Leeuwen, Oct. 30, 1713 (d. 1760)
 Died - 1747
 They were married by Rev. V. Antonides in Flatbush, she being the
 daughter of Frederick Henderson and Dinah Van Leeuwen (or Van Liew)
 of Jamaica LI.
 On Feb. 18, 1714 Jan bought 300 acres south of Middlebush NJ for
 300 pds. and moved there to farm. In 1766 his farm was bordered by
 Adrian Hageman (his daughter's family) just north of Franklin Park
 NJ. on the west side of route 27. It contains the family graveyard in
 the middle of a group of pines dividing two fields.
 In 1730 Jan was Somerset Co. Tax Collector for the Eastern
 Precinct as recorded in the NJ Governor and Council Records. After
 his death his wife 'Grietje' lived in the farmhouse and the land
 passed through several generations of the family. Jan's will names
 his wife and children and is dated Nov. 3, 1741. Hers is dated Dec.
 14,1760.
