Notes
a. Note:   When Arthur (Art) Sipma turned 21 years of age he began to "see the world", traveling to Australia, New Zealand and perhaps other South Pacific locations before arriving in the US circa 1915. He first came to Afton, California, where there were people of Dutch descent beginning to establish farming operations. Many Dutch immigrants were also moving to Modesto and Ripon in the San Joaquin Valley where irrigation systems were being built, which was an attraction to farmers. From Afton, Art Sipma moved to Ripon where he met and married Jennie Van Polen. Art was an avid fisherman.
