Note: N20 1880 Marshall, Clark Co., IL w/parents; also (seems clearly to be the same person) listed as niece of Sarah E. Kalmsley (Walmsley) 31y, Terre Haute, Vigo, IN. 1920 Cahuenga, Los Angeles Co., CA widow w/children. 1930 not found Name: SANDERSON, LURA BALSLEY Social Security #: 0 Sex: FEMALE Birth Date: 1 Apr 1864 BirthPlace: ILLINOIS Death Date: 3 Sep 1950 Death Place: LOS ANGELES Mother's Maiden Name: POOLE Father's Surname: BALSLEY I have pages from THE BALTZI DESCENDANTS. From all I gather, there were at least two Hiram's. quote from BALTZLI book: Of Jacob W., who was the first child of Christopher's second marriage, his eldest child, Bettie wrote: "My grandmother was grandfather's second wife and she was many years younger than he. My father (Jacob W.) died in my home at Hanover, OH in March, 1902 in his 92nd year. He had such a lovely memory, if he were alive he could tell me so much." Mrs. Lura Balsley Sanderson, writing of her visit to Ohio said: "In the summer of 1887, grandpa Hiram, grandma and I went to Ohio (my note: it doesn't say where they lived, but I'm assuming Fayette Co. PA) My father George W., son of Hiram C.) had always wanted me to see his birth-state. He was born in Zanesville, OH. We visited grandpa's brother Jacob and his family on a farm, out of Zanesville. Great uncle Jacob's wife was Nancy.....Cousin Betty was married to Acil Deman, and we visited her in her home, also a farm, I think, near Newark, OH. There was a younger girl, Fanny, and twins, Ernest and Herbert. (my note: we have oddles of twins in our family!!!-- Mom had a set, my sister had a set, and now my niece is expected a set next month.) Lineage from Jacob W. Balsley: Third generation (IV) Jacob W., Child of Christopher Balsley I, and Nancy Gray...there is a ? next to Nancy Gray and I don't know what they are questioning....her last name or the whole person. i Bettie (b. 1/11/1840 d. 1908 ii John (Dr.) iii Ernest both twins married . d. before 1902 iv Herbert (Ernest and Herbert were twins) d. before 1902 v Fannie m. Hibbs lived in Columbus OH vi Nannie m. Richards lived in Outville OH vii Mary m Bonifield and lived in McPherson, Kansas viii Hattie married Derman lived in Hilton, Kansas (It quotes Bettie Balsley's Obit....let me know if you want it...most of it is above, it lists her children as unknown but gchildren as Fannie Derman of Hanover OH and Helen Lynn, Winfield KA). Now my William (the auctioneer) was the son of Samuel (Charles) (John Jacob) (Benedict). The children of Samuel are: George, John, William and Hiram. It doesn't give the dates of birth/death or any middle initials. However, using your imagination, William was born around 1810. He was the second youngest....I would have to think Hiram was born around that time too. Williams' children were born from 1832 to 1848. I would imagine that Hiram's would be about the same. Hope this helps. Barb Goss http://www.barbee.net and http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/g/o/s/Barbara-A-Goss/tree1.htm
