Note: Viola Jane Gray Member of Windy Gap Presbyterian Church, West Finley Viola Jane Gray, 76, of Route 6, Linesville, formerly of West Finley, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005, in UPMC-Shadyside, following a long illness. She was born September 12, 1928, in Richhill Township, West Finley, a daughter of Okey and Alma Raymer Sprowls. She married Samuel John Salsberry June 8, 1945, and subsequently married Thomas M. Gray November 6, 1982. Mrs. Gray was a member of Windy Gap Presbyterian Church of West Finley. She worked for Ohio Valley Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va., before moving to Linesville in 1967, where she was employed by Molded Fiber Glass for 13 years, retiring in 1981. She enjoyed cooking, collecting teddy bears and, most of all, visits by her grandchildren. Surviving are four daughters, Karen Nickerson and husband Ron, Judy Oskin and husband Dave and Nancy Nickerson and husband Randy, all of Linesville, and Joyce Widner and husband Lucky of Henderson, Nev.; four sons, Ed Salsberry and wife Chris of Erie, Jerry Salsberry and wife Marilyn of O'Brien, Fla., Roy Salsberry of Port Royal, S.C., and Gary Salsberry of Linesville; a sister, June Amos of West Finley; a stepdaughter, Betty Nance of New Albany, Ind.; a stepson, Thomas Gray of Tucson, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. Deceased are her former husband, Samuel John Salsberry; her second husband, Thomas M. Gray; a son, Eugene Salsberry; a sister, Betty Porter; a brother, Ray Sprowls; a nephew, Tommy Sprowls; and a stepson, Terry Gray. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Friday in Harold W. Coleman Jr. Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville, with grandson Luke Oskin officiating. Interment will be in Linesville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, Corporate One Office Park, Bldg. II, Suite 225, 4075 Monroeville Blvd., Monroeville, PA 15146.
