Note: Obituary: James Mossbarger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Mossbarger, was born December 30, 1886 in Pike County, Ohio, departed this life at his home near Mechanicsburg, Ohio, November 3, 1926, age 39 years, 10 months, 4 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Ethel Nelson, August 20, 1908. To this union were born 3 children: Cleo and Ernest and (infant and wife) preceded him to the great beyond. On April 12, 1919, he was united in marriage to Lillie Smith. To this union were born 2 children: Naomi and Betty Ann. He leaves to mourn their loss, wife and 4 children; father and mother, 5 sisters. 4 brothers and 2 half brothers, and a host of relatives and friends. One stepsister preceded him to the great beyond. He was a good neighbor and liked by all who knew him. He loved his family and his greatest ambition was to make his home and family happy and to bring them up in the admonition of the Lord. In all of his sickness he did not complain and was willing for God's will to be done. He has gone from his dear ones, his children, his wife whom he willingly toiled for and loved as his life. Oh, God, how myterious and how strange are thy ways. To take from us this loved one in the best of his days. Funeral at the home in charge of Snyder of Mount Sterling. Burial at Madison-Mills cemetery. Rev. Geo. F. Wood. He Died of tyfoid fever. In the 1920 census, James, age 30, is listed as being married to Lillian and having two children, a daughter Theo, (who was actually Cleo) age 11 and a boy, age 9( Ernest). His wife Lillian was pregnant with daughter Naomi. She was 16 at the time. Betty Ann was born June 23,1926 and James died Nov. 10, 1926.
