 History of Moount Moriah, Mo. gives date of birth as 23 Nov. 1816.
 On 06 Mar. 1860 an Andrew Dempsey was appointed guardian of the 6 minor children of Samuel and Mary B. (Dempsey) Mossbarger. Samuel, their father, had died on 21 Aug. 1858. The Andrew in question may be Andrew S. Dempsey, born 23 Jan. 1804 in Kanawha County, Va. and who was in Aid Township (Lawrence) Oh in the 1850 census. (Is he Mary's older brother?)
