 She lived with Hugh and Sadie Parry as a teenager in Linwood, Ks.
 Hazel graduated from Linwood High School in Linwood, Ks.
 Hazel had long curls to her waist, at the time she was 16 years old.
 Hugh Parry shed tears when her hair was cut.
 Sadie used to inhale sulfa fumes to help her breathing.
 The Parry's had milkcows and Hazel used to deliver milk.
 The Parry home burned (year unknown), but was replaced with a new house.
 Hazel's pictures were burned in the fire.
 Sadie Parry died about 1939.
 Hazel remembers a beautiful yellow dress made by Sadie at the time of her marriage to John Holmes VI.
 She and John were married at noon in the Parry home at Linwood, Ks.
 Hazel played the piano and gave music lessons, she had a horse she called Bird.
 She called John " Monkey Doodle". John delivered newspapers and he was a beekeeper.
 They were building a home in Muncie,Wyandotte Co. Ks.
 They had a daughter, born in 1929.
 John and Hazel were divorced in 1933.
 *Hugh may have had a brother John.
 *Hugh & Sadie had sons John & Hugh.
 *John may have had a son,Theodore & a daughter Esther.She died abt. age 20.
  Hazel and Don Dagenett lived in Kansas City, Ks.Their son was born in 1937.
 Their son is married, he has three children and five grandchildren.
 Hazel and Don divorced about 1943.
  Hazel supported her daughter by working in a machine shop.
 She had an accident where an area of her hair was pulled from the front of her head.
 Hazel also worked for department stores, sometimes in the cataloge department.
  Hazel married Paul Ambrose (b.4 Feb.1908) in June 1944 in Kansas City, Ks. Paul has a daughter.
 She and Paul purchased a house full of antique furniture at an estate sale for $40, to help furnish a two story home for their family.
  Paul loved to hear Hazel play the hymn "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" on the organ.
 Paul died of a heart attack at a service station on 10 Feb.1945 in Kansas City, Mo.
 They were married eight months.
 Paul's daughter is married and has grandchildren.
 Hazel continued to corresponded with her.
 Both daughters continue to correspond.
  Hazel and her daughter, came to Portland , Or. in 1946.
  Hazel had a long courtship with Frank Savariau, they married about 1956 at Stevenson,Wa.
 As the result of his strong attachment to caring for his parents and not living with Hazel,
 she had the marriage annuled.
 Frank (1901-1986) is interned at Rose City Cemetery in Portland, Or.
  She married Charles Windell Dungan 13 Nov.1958 in Portland, Multnomah Co. Or.
 They lived in Roseberg, Lakeview, Klamath Falls and last in St. Helens, Or.
 Hazel and Chuck drove to the Atlantic coast, visiting Charleston and Hopewell West Va.,
 and Washington D.C. This was associated with Chuck's Army duty as a cook.
 Chuck was active in the V.F.W. and was a veteran, having served 30 years in
 the Armed Forces serving in the Navy, Army and National Guard as a cook.
 He liked to fish, hunt and dance.
  Charles was born at 12:30 a.m. on 12 Mar.1912 in Pullman,Whitman Co.Or.
 Chuck's father was LeRoy Dungeon, (notice spelling) his mother was Irene Meyers.
 He died on 26 Nov.1974 at 4:15 a.m. in the Veterans Hospital in Portland, Or.
 There are copies of his birth and death certificates and service records.
 His S.S.# 545-20-2420, may have been issued in California.
 He has a son and daughter by his first wife, Virginia.
  Hazel's hobies were playing the piano and organ, dancing, crocheting, knitting, sewing
 and collecting post cards.
 Hazel liked to visit the Oregon Coast.
  She was a Chaplin in the Moose Lodge in Klamath Falls, Or.
 Hazel was in the V.F.W. 1970 in Klamath Falls, also a Chaplin of V.F.W. in St.Helens, Or. in 1979.
 She was with St. Helens Nite Caps Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, 1979.
  Health notes:
 About 1947, Hazel had her left breast removed because of a lump, it was not cancerous.
 She received a broken ankle from a fall on some steps.
 Hazel had catarac surgery on both eyes, about 1985 and had a serious case of shingles in 1989,
 she stayed with her daughter in Beaverton, Or.
 She had retinal damage in her left eye, which resulted in the loss of sight in that eye.
 She remained with her daughter until she suffered a stroke on 30 Nov.1991.
 Hazel was admitted into Highland Hills Rehabilatation Care Facility in Beaverton,
 Washington Co. Or.,then transferred to a Foster Care Home.
 As more care was needed she was taken to Tualatin Valley Nursing Home.
 In Jul.1996 she was transferred to King City Nursing Home in Tigard, Washington Co. Or.
 and passed away 10 August 1996.
  The rehabiliton center in Tualatin Valley Nursing Home had pictures taken of their residents
 and Hazel's picture was chosen to be used on their 1994-1995 calendar
 and in the yellow pages in the Washington County phone book.
  Hazel's SS# 510-07-5668: issued in Kansas .There are copies of her birth and death certificates.
 She and Charles are buried together in a stack grave at Willamette National Cemetary, in Portland, Or.
