Note: Don was born in Great Falls, Mont. Don, his sister, Delores, and father, John moved from North Dakota to Oregon about1944. Don graduated from Benson High school in Portland, Or.1948. He was a Deisel Mechanic and Shop Manager. Don 's hobby's were hunting and fishing. He enjoyed fishing in the ocean. They were of Catholic faith. Don and Barbara were divorced in 1967 He had several accidents: Don lost half of his middle finger, on the left hand in 1936, playing on a merry -go-round, in a playground, at 7 years old. While helping his father log timber, he cut his foot with an axe, between his toes on left foot. About 1945. Don was hit by a semi-truck, his car rolled, his left leg was cut when it was caught in the door. His leg was saved but bothered him a lot in later years.About 1946 at 17 years old. He was in a boating accident which resulted in the loss of his spleen 19 June 1981. He taught Deisel Mechanics at Portland Community College appx.1978-1990. He had Lupus disease. Don died in the Mt.View Hosp. in Madras, Jefferson Co. Or. He was cremated, his ashes were scattered in Three Rivers at Madras, Or, by part of his family.
