Note: Margaret was given a family ring at the time of her marriage. She had no children and gave the ring to Anna Varien Purves at the time of her marriage. Anna gave it to her daughter Genevieve who gave it to daughter, Nancy Engfer Momsen. Her daughter Elisa would be the 9th generation to have the ring. In 1860 it appears that Margaret was working as a servant with sister Sarah Warner in St. Paul. However, her age was given as 27 when she would have been about 39, Margaret was John's second wife. In 1870 they had 5 of John's children living with them. 1880 census listed 2 children living with them by his first wife, Mary Kingston. In 1900 she gave her birthdate as Jan 1819; married 30 yrs.
