There was possibly a daughter named Nancy born in 1830 to Robert and Mary.
Robert served in the War of 1812, enlisted in the Militia on 15 Nov 1814 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky as a private in Captain William Walker's Company, 13th Regiment of the Kentucky Detached Militia as a substitute for John Basinger. He is shown on muster rolls on 31 Dec 1814 and was discharged 15 May 1815 - total service of 6 months. He was paid $48.
Land deed found in Breckinridge Co. Records, FHL # 976.9854 V2c, vol 3, p.41, 72, 102 show land ownership. Pg. 156 delinquent tax list shows Robert Gilliland with 1 tith on 17 nov 1817.
He died or cholera in Breckenridge County, Kentucky. His place of burial is unknown.
