a. Note:   t after that time until1815 He owned 100 acre on Hickory Creek. In 1860 he is shown with land on Little Bullskin Run and finally on Hickory Creek. This may be the same piece of land in each case.
  Adam served in the War of 1812 as a substitute for Robert Hollingsworth in Captain Robert Thurston's Company, 13th Regiment, Kentucky Detached Militia. He is shown on the muster rolls at Camp Jackson, Louisiana 31 Dec 1814, and is still there on 28 Dec 1814. He was detained with the sick until 20 Jun 1815 when he was discharged. For a total service time of seven months and nine days, he was paid $78.28. It is possible that his detention with the sick was for loss of an arm (family tradition).
  Shelby Co., Kentucky Probate Book 4, pg 124 indicates his widow, Sara, asked the court for an appraisal of his estate in Dec 1817, which returns a value of $594.37 1/2. No will has been located.
