  William and Frances did not appear tohave any children of their own. However, they adopted the ten Corbin orphans and named them in both an indenture and later, a will. There is a question as to the identity of Frances. Was she Frances Mary Berry, as stated by one researcher, or was she in fact, Frances Corbin and the children were William's all the time? Is this actually the William Hurt who married Frances Corbin to legalize the children? The Hurt home was inherited by Jefferson, child # 5, which he sold in 1856 when the family moved to Illinois.
