Notes
a. Note:   Group sheet submitted by Earlene Karren of Jerome, Idaho with heir Walla Morton Kirk as ggson Jeremiah was a witness to a deed in 1754 in which John and Susannah Thomas dispose of land in Westmoreland County formerly owned by John's grandfather, another John Thomas. He signs as witness for both John and Susannah. The family lived in that part of Stafford county which later became King George County.
According to McNees he was the son of a Robert Kirk, formerly of Lancaster Co. While he did not serve in the Revolution, he furnished property, horses, and other aid to the patriots as per an account in King George Court minutes for 4 April 1782 printed in Tyler's Quarterly Historical Magazine, Vol. V (1923-44) p 55
