a. Note:   er. His household consisted of one male under 5 years of age and one between the ages of 20 and 30, which we can assume was Philip; one female under 5 years of age and one between the ages of 20 and 30 - in other words, Mary, his wife. By the 1850 Census, Mary was widowed and living in her father's home with her brother, William, and her youngest(?) daughter, Catherine. Philip and Mary may have had as many as four more children.
 The name is found in the records spelled Deahl, Deil, Deel, Dale and Deal.
 Marriage license issued 3 Mar 1826; marriage performed 12 Mar 1826 in Miami County, Ohio.
Note:   The 1830 Census for Miami county, Ohio, shows Philip G. Deil living next door to Jonathan Boy
