!8. Family Bible of James and Sarah F. Brush; also information transcribed by Willis Ryan in upstate NY from a genealogical record collection located in a (now uninhabited) Brush home in St. Lawrence Co., NY. James was age 67 yrs. at time of his death. This family Bible states that James was born in George (Georgia, Franlikn County) Vermont. However, he was baptized in New Fairfield, Connecticut at the age of four years and it seems likely that he was also born in Connecticut, as is affirmed by the 1850 Census in Stockholm. As a youth, James, his parents and siblings went to Georgia, Vermont, and then about 1800, to Hawksbury, Ontario, Canada. James was a farmer. He was in New York stat in the 1820s where Edward was born, but back in Ontario when Ira and Marah were born. Finally, the family settled in Stockholm, St. Lawrence Co., New York where in 1850 he and Sarah were living with their son Edward and family.
