a. Note:   arried OTA BIRD PATY . She was born Mar 1877 and died 5 Dec 1918. She was an adopted daughter of JOHN WILLIAM PATY and his wife EMMA PEAY. Felix met and married Ota around 1910. The Patys and Ota lived in Bell Buckle, Bedford Co TN. Following her marriage to Felix, they moved to Pulaski TN where he was headmaster of Massey School there. He then became Dean of Men at UT in Knoxville around 1925. I believe the parents of Felix were ANDREW J MASSEY and MARY ELIZABETH PARTEN who had nine children, FELIX, JOHNNY, CHARLIE, ROBERT, WALTER, ARNETTA, JULIA, BENJAMIN and SALLY. I have no dates for this family other than Mary Elizabeth Parton b: 11 Mar 1849, d: 8 May 1917. Signed, Chuck Paty, Charlotte NC
  !NOTE: I, Virginia SUMMERS-ARNOLD believe Felix died before the 1880 census. He is not with his parents there and by 1900 the census that his mother is in it states she had 9 children and only 5 are living. She has 4 living with her in that census.
