 This Indenture made this 4th day of September 1820 Between William Caldwell clerk of the county court for the county of Adair of the one part and Robert Anderson of the County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the Said Caldwell as clerk aforesaid by virtue of an order of Said court hath put & placed and by these presents doth put & place Greenwood Dooley a poor boy of this county with the said Anderson with him to dwell during the term of Ten Years or untill [sic] he Said apprentice Shall arive [sic] the full age of twenty one years and Said Caldwell on his part covenant that the Said apprentice during the term afs'd [sic] his Said master in all his lawfull [sic] commands Shall well and truly and gladly obey and Said Anderson on his part binds himself to teach and instruct Said apprentice the art and mistery [sic] of the Tanning Business which he now professeth [sic] and will and further to allow and provide for Said apprentice Sufficient meat drink and wearing apparel necessary [sic] and fit for an apprentice and teach or cause the same to be properly done the Said apprentice Reading writing and common arithmetick [sic] including the rule of three and at the expiration Said term to allow and give unto Said apprentice one compleat [sic] Suit of clothes to be decent and new and three pounds ten Shilling current money
 In Testimoney [sic] whereof the Said parties have hereunto Set their hands and Seals the day and date afs'd [sic].
