!NOTE: Nelda's father's Bible says Mrs. Hiram Kellum died 8-20-55. In a email recieved from Linda WILLIAMS-KELLUM-MORRIS on 23 Mar 2007, she states Jessie died 30 Mar 1977 in Tyler, Texas. I wonder who Mrs. Hiram Kellum is? She is most likely Jessie's daughter-in-law, wife of Hiram Franklin Kellum. With this in mind I am going to change Jessie's death date to 30 Mar 1977.

!DEATH: OBIT FOR JESSIE LEE SMITH KELLUM (Hiram's second wife)written in the margin: 3/30/1977. : Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Lee Kellum, 89, of Rt 7, Tyler, are set for 1:30 pm Thursday at the Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating. Buriel will be in Meador Cemetery. Mrs. Kellum died Wednesday morning in a local nursing home after a long illness. She was an Eddy native, but lived in Tyler 33 years. Survivors include four sons: J.D. Kellum of Tyler; W.A. Kellum and Frank Kellum, both of Arp; and C.F. Kellum of Dallas; a sister Beulah Cathcart of Grapevine; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and five great-great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Howe Hartsfield, Mike Smith, J.D. Weaver Elmer Reid, O.J. Funderburgh and Burl Bell.
!NOTE: In a email from Linda Morris on Wed., 28 Mar 2007, in part she states the following: Hiram's son LD is actually J.D. Hiram's birthdate is 19 Oct 1868 according to his death certificate signed by John Sidney. He died 29 Aug 1955 (not 20th). He was buried 31 Aug 1955. He died of terminal broncho-pneumonia due to marked arteriosclerosis and senility. The death certificate also says he was widowed although Jessie didn't die until many years later. I thought that was interesting. Apparently he didn't recognize his second marriage after he left her? Jessie's death certificate shows that she was divorced. She was born Sept 29, 1887 and died March 30, 1977.
