Was driving from Yucaipa to Mentone along Yucaipa Blvd and Mentone Blvd (the back way) to pick up his wife Vivian from her work place. He didn't show up so she called her son-in-law, Tom Summers, to check on him. Tom drove and happened upon the crash as the firemen were putting out the fire. The cornor said that Jesse took only one breath of smoke. He was burnt beyond recognition; personal knowledge of Virginia Summers-Arnold 407 Van Buren Street, Taft, CA 93268. !OBIT: "SUN TELEGRAM FEB. 13, 1966; JESSE O.BASHOR; Jesse Orval Bashor, 57, 919 S.California Street, Redlands, died Thursday in Mentone. A native of Wilsey, Kan., Mr.Bashor had livved in Calimesa and Yucaipa for four years. He was a World War II vetern.Survivors include the widow, Vivian V.;his mother, Mrs Elizabeth Bashor of Longview, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. June Summers of Calimesa; a son, Lee of Calimesa; two brothers , Basil of Longview and Lester of Sidney, Neb.;three sisters, Mrs. Belle Smedley fo LaVerne, Mrs.Cecil Burnett of Kansas City,Kansas;and Mrs. Agnes Borkert of Council Grove, Kans. and six grandchildren.Services will be at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday at F.Arthur Cortner Chapel, Redlands with the Rev.L.Parker, Bashors nephew, officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands."
