Note: "Biographical Review of Cumberland County, New Jersey" 1896, p.307 "Harrison Perry___ whose grandfather was Jeremiah Perry was probably a native of Cape May. He learned the trade of wheelwright which he followed successfully upon his own account, and was one of the active business men of his day in Cape May. He was a high-minded, intelligent, and patriotic citizen, who is thought to have served in the War of 1812. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He married Sarah Crandall, a native of Cape May, and they reared a family of five children as follows: Samuel; Sarah, who became the wife of George Erety, of Philadelphia; John; Rachel, who married Elijah Winslow of Philadelphia; and Elizabeth, bwho married Joshua Lewis, of Blakely, Penn./b." [Actually, Jeremiah Perry and Sarah Crandel had 13 children.] CENSUS: 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 - lists 5 children, four sons and one daughter. My Joshua Lewis was born in 1804 in NJ, son of William and Deborah Lewis. She died and was buried in Blockley Baptist Church in 1848. My Joshua was married to Elizabeth. He died in 1881 and buried with wife in Blockley Baptist Church in Philadelphia. He was involved in the milk business.

Note: In 1924, Blockley Baptist Church arranged to remove all remains from its cemetery to Mt. Zion Cemetery, in Delaware Co. Work began in Oct. 1924. Nearly all tombstones, being of Marble were unacceptable to Mt. Zion, were destroyed, thus entailing the loss, in many cases, of the only burial record possessed by the church --- 1999 The Delaware County (PA) Daily Times runs a feature called "Other Times", which relates what went on in the area 100, 75 and 50 years ago. Today (July 24) in the "75 Years" segment, the following appeared which I thought might interest some researchers: "Blockley Baptist Church in West Philadelphia has received court permission to move the bodies from the cemetery adjoining its church to Mt. Zion Cemetery in Collingdale....". Collingdale is in eastern Delaware County. Further, I believe but am not sure that Mt. Zion is in a state of disrepair which a few dedicated locals are striving to overcome; it may be a another cemetery immediately adjacent to it. In any event, it has a listed telephone number: (610) 461-1166; the address is 1400 Springfield Rd., Collingdale.
