 Hi John,
This is what I believe for this line. Eleazar has been a brick wall for me for many years, although I suspect he or his family relocated to Fairfield with other families from Hartford / Fairfield CT. My maternal grandfather, Myron L Powell (1883-1973) spent most of his life on the Smith farm in Cedarville, Cumberland, NJ. His mother was Emma Mildred Smith (1859-1952), who was the daughter of Ephraim Lummis Smith (1828-1908) and Jane E D Bateman (1838-1918). Eprhraim was the son of Ephraim Smith JR (1798-1874) and Rhoda B Newcomb (1803-1897). His father, Ephriam Smith SR (1769-1851) was married to Sarah Shaw (1772-1821). The Senior was the son of Eleazar Smith JR (1744-1796) and Vashti Lummis (1746-1816), he being the son of Eleazer (1710-1754) and Mary Ogden (1719-1763). The Smith farm was in the family before the Revolution and a story has the British passing by taking all the good horses followed by the rebels who took all of them. Most all of these people are resting at the Old Stone Church in Fairfield. Have details for all interested and would most like to learn what any of you know about these folks. Cheers, Ken
