 "To the worshipful Court of Caroline County in Chancery sitting -
 Your orators and oratrix John Saunders and Solomon James, Slaughter Brown and Lucy W. his wife shew to the court that a certain William Saunders the father of your orator John & your oratrix Lucy W. departed this life on or about the 11 day of May 1819 having first duly made and published his last will and testament which has been admitted to record by this worshipful court and administration with the said will annexed granted to Thomas B. B. Baber one of the executors therein named, a certified copy of which will is herewith exhibited as a part of this bill. Your orators and oratrix further show that the said William Saunders by his said will among other things bequeathed to his wife Sally Saunders fifteen of the negores he should die possessed of to be chosen by herself to be held during her life, and all his remaining negroes he bequeathed to be equally divided at his death among his following children Vizt, your orator John, Emily I. Baber, your oratrix Lucy W., Lavinia Saunders, Maria Walker Saunders, William Saunders, Susan Saunders and Anna Saunders....."
