He was at the 1830 estate sale of his brother in law, Barnabus Hamilton, and appears that year in the 1830 Wayne County census. He voted in an 1834 Wayne County election. Sally appears alone in the 1840 census (Cornelius and Sally being the only Flowers in their respective census lists, 1830 & 1840, for the same area of Wayne County). Sally's known grandsons and great grandsons list Cornelius Flowers as their ancestor in the 1902 voter registration list.
